Prayer Beads

And some notes on how to use them

I created Subtle Seed Prayer Beads as a meditation tool for people at all levels of practice. To learn more about their creation story, check out my blog here. This page is here to offer suggestions on how to use the beads to grow your meditation practice.

Planting a Seed of Stillness

Find a quiet space and get seated in a comfortable position. Though you do want to keep your posture aligned, you will have a more successful meditation if you aren't distracted because you are uncomfortable!

Once situated, begin with some deep breaths into your belly and take the Earth Bead in your between your thumb and forefingers. As you breathe, notice where you feel tension and discomfort.

On a deep inhale, use your imagination to gather that tension and exhale it down, out of your body, and into the Earth. As you carry your breath down, feel the Earth Bead and the ground below light up with your attention.

Your "shitty energy" is fertilizer to the Earth. Each bit that you exhale down and out is recycled and reborn. Work your magic by breathing that recycled, vibrant Earth energy back up into your body.

Carry it through each one of your Chakras, following along with the beads and stopping to plant a seed in each one. Breath your attention to each "seed" and watch it blossom and light up that area of your body. Notice as your breath deepens and your

sensations increase.

Once you reach your Crown Chakra at the top of your head, exhale all of that good energy up and out of your head as a gift to the heavens above. The seeds of energy throughout your body will grow and you move energy from the Earth to the Sky, using your body as a channel.

Close out your meditation either by bringing something back down through your Chakras (peace, tranquility, inspiration, etc), or by slowly bringing your attention back to the outside work- one breath and one sense at a time.

Observing and Clearing Chakras

Find a quiet space and get seated in a comfortable position. Though you do want to keep your posture aligned, you will have a more successful meditation if you aren't distracted because you are uncomfortable!

Once situated, begin with some deep breaths into your belly and take the Earth Bead in your between your thumb and forefingers. Notice where you feel the most energy in your body. This is where you will begin your meditation.

If you are feeling lost in your head, begin with your Crown Chakra. Bring your breath and attention to the top of your head and breathe a calming circle of light into/around that area. When you feel connected to that vison and sensation, draw the same light and calm down into your Third Eye.

Continue this meditation until you reach the Earth and ground your energy through your Root Chakra and the Earth Bead.

Remember to use your deep, full breaths to guide the energy through you. Use the beads to help your mind stay focused, feeling them in your hand and you move through your body.

If your energy is focused in the lower half of your body, begin by getting grounded, and then use the beads to lift your energy up through your Chakras.
